Although many people have not heard about the peel-and-win phone card sweepstakes business, it has been around for many years. It all began in the mind of the President of GTT/FlexPoint about six years ago. Todd Phillips, who was at the time the owner of the southeast's largest CLEC company, came up with an idea to sell more phone cards.
The idea came to him after he realized how often he visited a certain fast food restaurant when they were running a popular sweepstakes. He believed that he also could benefit (sell more products) by attaching a sweepstakes to prepaid phone cards, but he went even further by having the sweepstakes pay out cash at the point-of-sale. What was once an idea is now a multi-million dollar industry that has definitely paid off when it comes to selling more phone cards.
It didn't take long for this great idea of promoting phone cards with an attached sweepstakes to be turned into a reality. To the surprise of everyone that believed in Todd's dream, the idea took off faster than anyone could ever imagine.
The company quickly began selling cards in Alabama. Months later the sweepstakes phone cards were in six more states. Today, GTT/FlexPoint sells more sweepstakes phone cards than any other company in the United States. This is probably due to the fact that GTT/FlexPoint is the largest manufacturer of sweepstakes phone cards in the world. We supply the vast majority of companies distributing sweepstakes phone cards with their product.
The growing company began showing up on the radars of other very prominent businessmen all over the United States. For this reason, Ron Payne and Elmer B. Harris approached Todd Phillips in mid-2006 to discuss a partnership that would take the company formerly known as FlexPoint Source to new levels.
The result is a company now known as Global Telecommunications Technologies, LLC (or GTT for short). Since the acquisition/purchase, GTT has taken great leaps into expanding the sweepstakes phone card business along with other related ventures. GTT/FlexPoint continues to look for innovative ways to promote products and increase its dominance in the industry.
